St. Thomas the Apostle Staff

Name: Father Tony Andrade

Staff position: Pastor
As pastor of this church, what I enjoy the most is being with my parishioners and celebrating the Holy Sacraments. I am part of all the committees and share my views and help make decisions. This is my first parish, and my focus is to build a strong community that loves, cares and shares. I enjoy the presence of children in my parish and also our celebration of the Holy Eucharist; they remind us of God's love and God's presence in our life. I want to promote the importance of visiting the sick and the homebound of our parish. I personally go to visit them and I encourage the parishioners to do the same. I am looking forward to many years of service in this parish.

My home parish in India has a website and I send articles there to be published in Fr. Tony's Corner. Click here to check it out.

Name: Deacon Richard and Julie Moore

We are excited with our assignment to St. Thomas the Apostle. This community is very warm and welcoming. In an age of Mega parishes, the small size and closeness of this parish is refreshing. In the gospels, Jesus meets people where they are and invites them into a closer relationship with God. As Christians, we are to model this acceptance and meet people where they are and journey with them into a closer relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We look forward to the future of our parish and would invite those looking for a parish home to experience the community of St. Thomas the Apostle.

Name: Sister Mary Lou Dummer, OSB

Staff position: Director of Liturgy + RCIA
I coordinate all liturgy preparation for weekend, weekday and special liturgies; recruit, train and provide ongoing formation for all liturgical ministers; select music and schedule and work with musicians. Prepare Presider's weekly book, work with an active liturgy committee, collaborate with other staff members; take part in continuing education resources. What do I enjoy most about my job? Spending time reading the Scriptures for each Sunday - then choosing the music, preparing the prayers and General Intercessions, then coming to celebrate with the people. My goal is to have everyone who worships at St. Thomas feel welcome and sincerely believe that they are responsible for good liturgy. All are responsible to participate fully, actively and consciously.

Name: Mary Trcka

Staff position: Secretary/Receptionist
My responsibilities include: Answer phones and door, publish the bulletin, oversee Revelations so everyone gets their articles in, handle all mailings (I have a wonderful crew that does this). Keep database current (names, address changes, newcomers, etc.) Generally, I do what the rest of the staff needs me to do. What do I enjoy most about my job? I like doing the bulletin and making flyers, pamphlets and various other things. This keeps it interesting and gives me a chance to be creative. One of my goals? I hope to see St. Thomas the Apostle become a more active parish and have more participation by the younger families. I believe the new facilities will help by making everything easier and bringing everyone together.

Name: Julie Taylor
Staff position: Faith Formation Coordinator
My husband, Randy, and I have been members of St. Thomas since 1992, raising our three children here, and have always felt very welcomed by this small faith community.  I have a degree in teaching and am excited to use that training as the Faith Formation Coordinator for preschool through 8th grade, working with our wonderful, experienced catechists to teach our little (and big) ones about Christ and the Catholic faith.  My ministry also includes coordinating the Nursery, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, MOMS, and Vacation Bible School.  My goal as Faith Formation Coordinator is to empower parents and catechists to share their faith with the children of St. Thomas in an atmosphere where each child feels valued and loved.

Name: Terri Hunt

Staff position: Youth Minister & Coordinator of the Confirmation Program
I am so thrilled to be working with the youth of our parish, and walking with the Confirmation Candidates on their journey to receive this sacrament. I have always enjoyed working with and teaching the children, as well as being a mother to my own daughter. What do I like about my job? What's there not to like! I get to hang out with kids, get to know them better, and help them to see that there are adults, in addition to family members, who truly care about them. My goals are to establish a monthly gathering for the Confirmed and recent high school graduates, help create a monthly youth mass, create a buddy program between our high school and younger children, and help bring families and their children back to church. Also, we are transforming the choir loft into a Youth Room which will be an exciting addition to our facilities.
